Q:
Do I have to have gear?
A: Gear is not required, but definitely welcome. It can be borrowed from the club or a member if you do not have access to any.

Q: How much does the Outdoor Club cost?
A: Club fees are between $15 and $20 dollars per year, decided at the beginning of the fall semester. This fee covers insurance for yourself, venturing crew registration, as well as going toward the purchase of new group gear.

Q: Do I have to pay for each outing?
A: Yes. On average, each attendant to a weekend outing contributes about $5. This covers food, transportation, and other incidentals. Depending on the activity, cost may vary. The cost is always set before you commit to a trip.

Q: How often does the club take trips?
A: We try to plan trips at least once a month, usually from Friday evening until Sunday afternoon. Weekend trips are generally in-state within a couple hours drive. A club spring break trip is also planned for out of state, the destination to be chosen by members who are going.

Q: What kind of activities does the Outdoor Club have?
A: More or less, anything outdoors. Camping, canoeing, caving, rock climbing, hiking... if you have a favorite outdoor activity, come out and meet someone with whom you can share your experiences.

Q: Does the club still do outdoor activities in the winter?
A: Yes. With a little help from experienced club members, you can cheaply and comfortably enjoy the outdoors year-round. Don't believe us? Come to a meeting and ask us - we'll dispel any doubts you have.
